Carlos Morreo
Convenor, Latin American Research Initiatives
During his extended period of residency in Australia Carlos was Program Curator for the Latin American Film Festival, taught international relations at the University of Melbourne and convened the innovative and highly successful seminar at the IPCS in first semester 2008 entitled “Futuros de Latinoaméica Latin America after “Latin America”. Now back in Caracas, Carlos lectures in sociology at the Escuela de Estudios Políticos, Universidad Central de Venezuela, and philosophy within the Escuela de Filosofía at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. He is researching Latin America political theory and the “idea of the International among Latin American subaltern classes”. He is particularly interested in collaborative ventures that might bring the Latin American material into broader conversations about knowledges of the international.
