Book series

After the New Order: Space, Politics, and Jakarta

Abidin Kusno's After the New Order: Space, Politics, and Jakarta was published in late 2013. It follows up his well-received Behind the Postcolonial and The Appearances of Memory. His new work examines the formation of recent populist urban programmes in Jakarta and the contradictions that emerge from the continuing influence of neoliberal development as promoted in the Suharto era. At a more general level, the book Is concerned with the interplay of space, power and identity.
