Carlos Eduardo Morreo is the Institute of Postcolonial Studies’ executive officer. Carlos also teaches global political economy and critical approaches to development in the School of Politics and International Relations at the Australian National University in Canberra.
Prior to IPCS and the ANU, Carlos was a Research Fellow with the Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos “Rómulo Gallegos” (Fundación Celarg) in Caracas, where he was the founding editor of its creative and critical research journal, SUR/versión, investigación y creación de America Latina y el Caribe. In Caracas he was also a lecturer in social theory at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, political philosophy at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, and within the political economy program in the newly created Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela.
He has recently co-edited Postdevelopment in Practice: Alternatives, Economies, Ontologies (Routledge 2019) with Elise Klein. For more on Carlos’ research and critical work visit his research page.
