Angela is a non-Indigenous educator committed to interculturally informed eco-literacies for Country, age-appropriate education, and creative, place-based learning through a/r/tography (art/research/teaching).
She joined the not-for-profit Merri Creek Management Committee (MCMC) in 2000 (ongoing), to develop and deliver waterway and biodiversity education projects in a framework of connecting to Country. Her leadership roles span early years to tertiary level education and research with an array of partners including Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, state, and local government agencies. Angela has developed and co-delivered courses as an Associate Lecturer for RMIT (2014-ongoing), Monash University (2021-ongoing) and University of New South Wales (1989-1995).
Her current project with IPCS and the Sydney Biennale (2022) builds on her doctoral work, The art of place-making in the contact zone on Wurundjeri Country today (2021), foregrounding appreciation of and connection to Country and folding together opportunities for decolonial and creative inquiry.
Angela is an IPCS Visiting Fellow for 2022.
